In 2016 we started the Rescue Fund to give back to our community. From every bag of Rescue Biscuits, $2 is donated to help local animal rescue organizations. Thanks to these groups so many of us have been connected with animals that truly complete our families. Our own dog Brandie is a Labrador rescue, adopted back in 2013. And over the years you’ve shared so many stories about YOUR Labrador rescues too, that always touch a special place in our heart. They’re the most loveable, wonderful dogs that we wouldn’t have had to opportunity to adopt if it wasn’t for these organizations and their dedicated volunteers.
North Atlantic Remote Vet Services is a non-profit group of veterinary professionals that dedicate their free time (when they’re not already working in the field) travelling to remote northern communities in Newfoundland and Labrador to provide essential vetrinary services. From spay and neuters and basic medical care that’s out of reach for families and their pets, to TNRs (trap, neuter, release) and straight up rescue missions of over-populated areas. They do this on their own time with their own resources and equipment, all funded by donations.
We’re very excited and proud to donate $1,500 from our Rescue Fund to NARVS and help them continue their mission, making a difference in the lives of so many of these amazing dogs.
This weekend at the Farmers’ Market we will be restocked with our Rescue Biscuit variety packs. You can also purchase them for pick up or delivery on our website, www.boou.ca. We encourage you to join the NARVS Facebook group and follow along their journey of bringing accessible medical care to these remote communities. And if this is a cause that pulls at your heartstrings like it does ours, you can sponsor a spay/neuter or make a donation through the NARVS group.
THANK YOU for supporting Boou Dog Treats, our Rescue Fund, and helping us give back in such a meaningful way that will touch the lives of many others 💛
In 2016 we started selling our Rescue Biscuit variety packs as a way to give back. After all, we wouldn't have had the opportunity to adopt Brandie if it wasn't for these great organizations. From each variety pack sold $2 is donated to local animal rescues and shelters. Thanks to your help, we've made donations to several SPCAs in the province, Beagle Paws, plus other cat and small animal rescues.
In 2017 we started our Toy Drive, collecting donations of new and gently used pet toys for local animal rescues and shelters. If your dog is anything like Brandie, they have baskets of toys that they never use anymore. We've had great success with donations from our customers. Donations can be dropped off to any events we attend, or you can always contact us to arrange a time to drop off. In partnership with our Rescue Fund we've been able to ship toy donations to shelters across the island and up to Labrador. Every animal deserves a toy, even if they haven't found their forever family yet.
